Shakir manages and provides technical assistance to complex market systems development projects, leveraging blended finance, across agriculture and other value chains. He also designs and delivers advisory, training and capacity building services to internal teams as well as to external clients and partners in the areas of sustainable business, supply chain and market systems development.

Prior to MEDA, Shakir worked in various private sector industries including manufacturing, mining, financial and consulting services. He holds an MBA in International Business and Sustainability as well as a Graduate Diploma in Business and the Environment from the Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India.
